MOUNTCASTLE HILLS – GREAT RANCH, FIRST TIME ON MARKET
A big all-brick ranch with charm has just come on the market in Mountcastle Hills. The home at 206 Crestwood Drive is in one of the favorite neighborhoods in Johnson City, TN – close to everything but in on a quiet street of other substantial homes, and in the desirable Fairmont Elementary School area.
The mature lot has a great Japanese maple and some other lovely trees and shrubs. There’s a patio and plenty of space for family fun.
The main level has graciously large formal areas opening from 17x6 marble-floored foyer. Family and friends will enjoy the over-size living room and the dining room which features unique imported French wallpaper. This and the imported paper in the hall are the only wallpaper in the house. The paneled family room has one of the two fireplaces and a wall of bookcases and cabinetry. Kitchen cabinets are cherry and there’s table space in addition to the dining room. All these areas have hardwood floors, and the three bedrooms are carpeted.
The master bedroom has a wall of bookcases, a good-size walk-in closet and a full bath. The other two bedrooms have a wall of closets and one has more bookcases – good for home office, books or children’s things.
A full finished basement has enormous potential for whatever you want, with a second fireplace, two walls of storage, another space with room for imagination, and a pleasant laundry and two-car drive-under garage.
The first open house will be June 9, 2-5. Come and/or send your friends. At a recent open house in Hillrise, two of my friends bought their friends, and those friends ended up competing for the house. I welcome the help of my friends and the family’s friends and neighbors.
(As a matter of history, this house was the long-time home of the family of Dr. George Scholl, who delivered several generations of babies in the Johnson City area.)
