When you’re at the Farmer’s Market on Wednesday or Saturday, or when your computers are beset by gremlins, the short answer is Bob Wakely, East Tennessee Computers, at the corner of State of Franklin and Spring Street (#132 Spring Street) , just opposite the Farmer’s Market. His phone is 423-741-4444. Or go on another day and park at the Farmer’s Market lot or at the nearby city lot if there’s not a space right in front.
I was recently in the middle of something that has to be done yesterday, in a Word document, and suddenly everything on the screen is huge. If I had a vision problem, this would be a godsend, but trying to compose something when I can see only a few words at a time was impossible. I went to “help” and couldn’t find it. I didn’t have a minute to spare and I was getting frustrated.
Quick solution. I know Bob is great at repairs and often has real bargains in computers and laptops, and is very reasonable, friendly and relaxed to deal with, so I called. “Bob, do you have just a minute for an emergency?” “Yeah, just about a minute.” I described the problem, he gave me a two-click instruction and the problem is solved.
Tell him Mary Sheridan recommended him.
To see all the things Bob Wakely does well, go to www.ETNPC.com . I borrowed the great picture from his business card on the site. “Help!” is what he does best.
POSTSCRIPT: The picture was of the area of the keyboard that has "HELP". It's too late to call Bob to see why I can't get that onto the blog. It was on the Word doc I copied.
