We fell in love with the mountains, the people, and the pace of life in Northeast Tennessee a few years ago and moved here when my husband retired from teaching in medical schools in Rochester, NY and in Bethesda, MD. I didn't retire from real estate - after many years in Maryland real estate, I just changed locations. Johnson City is a great place to live and I enjoy introducing people to all the advantages of life here.
I have been a buyer's agent since early 1980s and work hard to market my listings creatively. HOW I HELP SELLERS - CREATIVE MARKETING
I work primarily with residential properties, working with a lot of professionals and retirees because for some reason those are the people who keep coming to me and sending their friends. There's also great pleasure in helping first-timers get started.
I campaigned a long time ago for buyers' right to full representation and have been representing buyers for many years, but I also enjoy working for sellers. I do not divide my loyalty. People looking at my listings understand that I am already representing the seller and cannot represent both, but my sellers are educated to know what buyers want and I am able to do single agency without creating an adversarial atmosphere.
My sellers' homes get thorough internet exposure, since this is the best way to find buyers. All my listings have the advantage of being Featured Homes on Realtor.com, with 25 pictures, contact information, my web site, and other useful features. They are also on many vother sites. I enjoy asking prospective sellers to compare how my listings "google" with those of whoever else they're considering. They also benefit from several websites I've developed for neighborhoods that I especially like to work in, or where I have a lot of friends.
I have the luxury of being able to concentrate on meeting the needs of current buyers and sellers, because I'm careful not to take on too many needs at a time. It feels good to have time to listen, preview, and keep on keeping on until I've finished the challenge and confirmed a friendship.
